So instead of constantly boring my friends with the random things that happened to me on World of WarCraft, I’ve decided to start posting them here.
I guess a couple notes to start out with will be an adequate first post:
1.) The title… “Looking for Mair”… refers to two things. Firstly it refers to the “Looking for More” tool in the game. I have been in and out of a few semi ardcore raiding guilds over the years, but always end up in a small guild mostly made of of IRL friends. Theres never very many of us and often to complete any raids or challenges we end up in the Dungeon queue.... this is where time seems to dissappear.. So yes, ’tis a nod to that.
2.) I’m a bit of a nooblet. I didn’t start playing WoW until late 2007. So I’m not as chock-full of wisdom and experience as most other WoW-bloggers you’ll find. But that’s okay. This blog is mostly sort of a personal journal for WoW-things, rather than a commentary or teaching tool. However if you manage to find this journal to be a satisfactory commentary or teaching tool, that’s great too!
3.) Finally… if you have somehow stumbled across this blog and choose to read it for some reason… keep in mind that, as I said in point #2, this isn’t really supposed to be an in-depth commentary on World of WarCraft or anything… mostly it’s a personal journal chronicling my adventures in Azeroth which is open for anybody to read if they’re curious. I’m a casual as opposed to hardcore WarCrafter and having fun and exploring the game world is far more important to me than having the awesome gear. Its something I try and fit in around the rest of real life. Full time work – and hobbies that include wargaming, photography and this blog.
My (new) main is Lizt a Level 85 Human Holy Priest - Bronze Dragonflight
My active Alts are scattered around a bit
Guizerjarl 85 Dwarf Survival Hunter on Bronze Dragonflight
Orff 85 Human Blood Death Knight on Bronze Dragonflight
Handel 82 Night Elf Prot Warrior ( not being played really)
Debussy 80 Human Rogue on Bronze Dragonflight
Mehndelsson 71 Human Paladin on Bronze Dragonflight
Pindar 61 Worgen Druid on Bronze Dragonflight
And a few not so active Mage, Warlock Guizerjarl was my main, and dont know whether i just got fed up DPSing or waiting for groups as a dps but think too much time was wasted in LFM, hence the change... Most of my achievements are on this toon so hopefully come patch 5.0 they will be transferred over to Lizt. After a bit of a break from the game, just as ulduar was released i think i burned myself out. Me and a few friends decided to get back on the hobby horse as it were and get back into the swing of things... more of what had changed and my findings to follow. But here i am with my nice new shiny recently dinged priest :)
So... 1 - 85 I love being Shadow.
We are rather self sufficient class – Heals Mana Damage. Stick us in plate and we would be running Azeroth.
I am a little disappointed at the lack of lore around Shadow Priests.
We don’t seem really welcome in the cathedrals – I think the trainers just suffer our existence and are getting bribed big time to do our training. I was a bit concerned about being a cloth wearer having come from a hunter, but heay, a mind blas and a mind flay and they never get to us ;)
Lvling the priest was quick and fun, power word shield is a lifesaver and I found the shadow class very dependable. However... this wasnt what i wanted... as soon as i hit 85 it was over to Holy... and the journey began!
